The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes held a grand opening of its new children's playground on March 29, 2014. The playground is located at the tribes' new tribal Community Center in Clinton, OK.

MADNESS IN MARCH BASKETBALL 

"Madness in March" is an all-Indian basketball tournament held every spring in Henryetta, Oklahoma. The tournament, now in its 11th year, is organized by 4 LOVE OF THE GAME, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing athletic and academic opportunies for Native students.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP FORUM

Cheyenne and Arapaho TV visited the tribes' 2014 Youth Leadership Forum on March 17, 2014. Chance Rush and MC One emceed the event which featured workshops on Cheyenne and Arapaho language, diabetes wellness, and the election of new C&A Youth Council officers.

INDIAN CHALLENGE BOWL 2014

Cheyenne and Arapaho TV (CATV 47) visited the 2014 Indian Challenge Bowl held at the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Slulphur, OK. The Oklahoma Indian Challenge Bowl is an academic competition for Oklahoma Indian students enrolled in grades 7th – 12th.The Oklahoma Indian Challenge Bowl is designed to stimulate Indian Students, their parents and adult sponsors to learn about tribal people, accurate tribal histories, cultural educations and emphasize the importance of tribal languages that make the 39 Indian tribes located in Oklahoma unique.

ELDERS CONFERENCE 2014

Cheyenne and Arapaho Elder's were treated to a day long conference sponsored by various programs and tribal services. On hand to lend advice and dispense information were experts in the field of diabetes control and prevention and other elder services.

Governor Eddie Hamilton expresses his regard for these treasured citizens of our community as well as his desire to increase support services.

2014 INAUGURATION

On January 4, 2013, CATV 47 attended the inauguration of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes' newly elected officers and legislators. Rollin "Eddie" Hamilton and Cornell Sankey were sworn in as Governor and Lt. Governor. Four new legislators were sworn in as well: Christine Morton (Arapaho District 2), Alan Fletcher (Cheyenne District 2), Eugene Mosqueda (Arapaho District 1), and Kyle Orange (Cheyenne District 4).

DARLINGTON CHRISTMAS BOOKS

CATV 47 spent some time reading Christmas stories to pre-K and kindergarteners at Darlington School the week before their Christmas break. We enjoyed it probably more than the kids did.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

Cheyenne and Arapaho TV visited the 2013 Christmas Bazaar in Clinton, OK on December 13, 2013. The Christmas Bazaar is put together by the C&A Employee Committee, and is usually held in Concho, OK. The 2013 event in Clinton was in addition to the one in Concho held the next week.
