Community 0054 - Cobell Settlement Interview
Katherine and Raymond Perosi have been wondering why the U.S. Government has not released funds from the Cobell Settlement that was approved four years ago. Katherine briefly describes the history of the settlement and how Cheyenne and Arapaho People can find out more.
C&A Tribal members and others are encouraged to attend a meeting with the Cobell attorneys to ask questions and find out why these funds have not been released. The meeting takes place Monday June 2, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Iscani Witchita Housing Authority (located west of Wal-Mart) in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Concho Child Care Gets New Storm Shelter
The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes held a ribbon cutting to officially open two new storm shelters at their Childcare facility in Concho, Okla. Storm Shelters Inc. fabricated and installed two thirty-person-capacity shelters there and another two at the tribes' Headstart facility. Four more are planned for the Headstart and Childcare centers in Clinton, Okla. In May of 2013, Concho and Nearby El Reno, Okla. were threatened by one of the most powerful tornados on record. The storm took eight lives and injured more than one hundred people.
Community 0052 - Tribal Consultation
The U.S. Department of EducationTribal Consultations were held April 15, 2014 at the National Center for Education Development in Norman, OK. The consultations are a way for national education policy makers to hear firsthand the concerns that tribes have concerning their students. William Mendoza, Executive Director of the White House Initiative on American Indian and Alaska Native Education, was in attendance.
Community 0051- C&A Language Zoo Field Trip
The Cheyenne and Arapaho Language Department pulled out all stops this beautiful Spring day by taking students of all ages out to the Oklahoma City Zoo. It was a practical language exercise.
